• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed)
• Pet profiles: name, breed, species, weight, date of birth, health conditions
• Health check-in data: appetite, mood, activity, water intake, litter/stool logs
• Medical records: vet visits, vaccinations, medications, documents you upload
• AI chat messages: symptom descriptions and assistant responses
• Expense data: pet care spending you choose to track
• Device data: browser type, operating system (for app functionality)

Your data is used to:

• Provide and improve the Furmo service
• Generate health trends, alerts, and analytics for your pets
• Power the AI health assistant with your pet's context
• Apply daily feature limits and prevent abuse
• Send notifications and reminders you've configured

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — to power the AI health assistant. Chat messages and pet context are sent to OpenAI for processing. See OpenAI's privacy policy for details.
• Technical infrastructure (database, cache, and background services) — to keep the app secure and reliable.
• Cloud hosting — our servers and databases are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure.

Your data is stored in encrypted databases. We use HTTPS for all communications, bcrypt for password hashing, and follow industry-standard security practices. We do not sell your data to third parties.

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time through the app
• Delete your account and all associated data via Settings
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and store your preferences (theme, language). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Furmo is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
